We're a charitable foundation
providing grants & volunteer support to the local area. We are funded by our corporate partners, Addium & METER.

The Addium-METER Foundation is dedicated to making a meaningful impact through strategic philanthropy. Our mission is to leverage both volunteer time and financial resources to tackle poverty, advance education, and improve the quality of life within our communities. We are deeply committed to supporting initiatives that empower historically underserved groups, striving to create opportunities that foster equality and inclusivity.

Since our inception, we have awarded over $538,000 to local non-profit organizations, directly impacting the lives of many.

Traditionally, our grant cycle opens annually in the Spring, offering a platform for qualified non-profit organizations to seek support. Through a streamlined proposal process, the Addium-METER Foundation board evaluates potential projects for funding, aiming to empower impactful initiatives.

Our Mission

"Leveraging charitable assets of both time and money to fight the effects of poverty, promote education, and improve quality of life."

At the Addium-METER Foundation, our philanthropic efforts are guided by a commitment to fostering impactful, sustainable change within our communities, particularly in the Palouse area. Our priorities reflect our dedication to addressing critical needs while leveraging the strengths of our corporate partners, Addium and METER. Through thoughtful consideration of grant proposals, we aim to support initiatives that foster:

Our Priorities

We prioritize projects that promise to serve and impact a broad segment of our community. Initiatives that demonstrate a clear plan for reaching and benefiting a significant number of residents will be given preference, especially those that can show measurable outcomes and a sustainable model of service.

Central to our mission is the upliftment of underserved communities. We seek to support programs that directly address issues of poverty, inequity, and lack of access to essential services. Proposals that offer innovative solutions to these challenges, aiming to create lasting improvements in the lives of the most vulnerable, are especially encouraged.

A unique aspect of our foundation is the active involvement of Addium and METER employees in the projects we fund. We value proposals that include meaningful opportunities for our corporate partners’ employees to contribute their time and skills. Whether it’s through hands-on activities such as painting and installations or more specialized technical projects, we believe that volunteerism enhances the connection between our companies and the communities we serve.

We are committed to initiatives that improve the overall quality of life in our local communities. Projects that address health, education, and welfare, contributing to a safer, healthier, and more vibrant community, align with our goals. We support efforts that make a tangible difference in creating environments where individuals and families can thrive.

Education is the cornerstone of personal and community development. The Addium-METER Foundation places a high value on initiatives that enhance educational opportunities for all ages. We are particularly interested in projects that collaborate with schools, libraries, and educational nonprofits to provide innovative learning experiences. Our focus is on supporting programs that help individuals gain valuable skills, knowledge, and an understanding of their cultural heritage. Projects that emphasize STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), literacy, and lifelong learning are of great interest, as are those that aim to close the educational gap for underserved populations.

The METER Foundation, established in 2018 by the board of directors of METER Group, Inc. They embarked on a mission to harness the charitable spirit of the organization, dedicating both time and financial resources to combat poverty, promote education, and elevate the quality of life in our local surrounding communities.

In 2022, a transformative shift occurred when the original company expanded into two distinct entities, Addium and METER. This evolution not only broadened our horizons but also deepened our capacity to make a meaningful impact.

To reflect this significant growth, we rebranded to the "Addium-METER Foundation" in 2023, marking a new era of collaborative philanthropy and a reinvigorated commitment to our foundational goals.

In 2024, the Addium-METER Foundation launched a new year-round Volunteer Request program, designed to meet the dynamic needs of non-profits seeking skilled volunteer support. Approved requests will be shared with the dedicated and technically adept employees of Addium and METER, providing a unique opportunity for hands-on involvement in your projects. This initiative underscores our commitment to fostering community engagement and leveraging our collective expertise for the greater good.
